The re-sanding is the step that separates a proper job from a wet driveway. Without it the blocks work loose and weeds come straight back through the joints.

Cost

What does driveway cleaning cost?

It is priced by area and by what is on there. A standard block paving drive is a fixed price per square metre. Heavy oil staining, deep moss or a surface that has never been touched takes longer and costs more.

Sealing is priced separately because it is genuinely optional. It roughly doubles the time before it needs doing again and it stops weeds seeding into the joints, but a clean and re-sand on its own is a perfectly reasonable choice.

Needed leak repairs gutter and roof, contacted WD Property Maintenance they came out next day to quote and completed the works almost immediately at a day and time to suit me. They used a cherry picker saving loads of hassle as no  scaffolding, traffic lights  permission and pavement  re route neeeded as property1is very close the highway. While he was on the roof he also spotted some erosion with our chimney stack and fixed it for us. He took before and after pictures so we could clearly see the work which had been done. Will cleaning damage my block paving?

No, done at the right pressure with a rotary head. What damages block paving is a pointed lance held in one place, which blows the sand out and scores the blocks.

Do I need it sealed?

Not necessarily. Sealing keeps it looking better for longer and stops weeds, but a clean and re-sand is a valid choice on its own.

How long does it take?

Most domestic drives are a single day, including the re-sand.

Can you get oil stains out?

Usually we can lift most of it. Old, deeply soaked oil sometimes leaves a shadow, and we will tell you that before starting rather than after.

Do you clean patios and decking too?

Yes, and paths, steps, walls and render. It is usually cheaper to do it all in one visit.

Do you need scaffolding, and is it included?

Anything beyond a small repair within safe ladder reach needs scaffold or a tower. Where it is needed it is included in the quoted price, not added later.
